Our Founder & Vision

Thomas Mejer Hansen, founder of NoloSight, is a lecturer in Geophysics at Aarhus University. With over 20 years of experience developing statistical methods for geophysical data analysis, Thomas specializes in a fundamental challenge: interpreting indirect measurements to understand what cannot be directly observed.

In geophysics, this means analyzing measurements taken at the Earth’s surface to determine underground structure. In medical imaging, it means analyzing scanner data to reveal what is inside the human body. The underlying mathematical problem is remarkably similar—and this parallel insight became the foundation for ProPET.

From Inverse Problems to Medical Diagnostics

Thomas’s expertise in solving complex inverse problems—extracting meaningful information from noisy, limited measurements—has been crucial in developing NoloSight’s probabilistic approach to PET image analysis. This scientific rigor and methodological depth distinguish ProPET from conventional image processing approaches.

The Nolosight Name

NoloSight’s name draws inspiration from J.R.R. Tolkien’s languages. “Nolo” is derived from “Nolme,” which means a wise person or elf—symbols of insight and deep perception. Combined with “sight,” the name reflects our mission: to bring clarity and deeper understanding through advanced imaging technology.

From the beginning, NoloSight has aimed to combine scientific knowledge, clinical vision, and technological innovation to transform medical diagnostics.

Our Investors

T&W Medical A/S, the holding company of the Tøpholm and Westermann families, invested in Nolosight for its ready-to-use software for doctors. The technology enhances diagnostics and efficiency, with strong potential to improve outcomes and streamline healthcare workflows.
